From early aeronautics to today's department
The Department of Aeronautics and Naval Architecture was established on 1 January 2021 when the former Department of Railway Vehicles, Aircraft and Ships was divided.
Aeronautical education at BME reaches back to aviation lectures in 1910–11, an academic pilot course in 1920 and the later development of dedicated aeronautical teaching, laboratories and research groups.
